    The mission of the Lawrence County Health Department Rural Health Clinic is to provide quality primary  care to all people regardless of age, race, sex or ability to pay and improved the access to health care to all citizens in Lawrence County.  The Rural Health Clinic expanded in 2003 with a newly remodeled, expanded area for patient care and services, along with, two Physicians and two Family Nurse Practitioners.

    Currently the Rural Health clinic has contracts to be a provider for the Little Egypt Breast & Cervical Cancer Program and the East Central Breast & Cervical Cancer Program.  These programs are funded through the federal government to provide free annual breast exams, pap tests, and mammograms to qualified women.

    Additionally, the Rural Health Clinic provides school physicals/exams at a discounted fee.

    The clinic is certified for participation by Medicare and is in compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
