Director of Accounting | Payroll Manager 

We are looking for an eager individual to join our organization who has great attention to detail and understands General Accounting Principles.
This person will be expected to work 8:00 AM-4:00 PM Monday through Friday. 
Position Description:
 The Accounting Director works closely with the Administrator, Administration and all LCHD Supervisors.  This Director guides and manages the overall provision of financial services, policies, and programs for the entire Lawrence County Health Department. 
Essential functions of this position are:

  •  Exercise prudent financial sense at all times

  • Keep Administrator and other appropriate supervisors informed of any financial concerns on a timely basis;

  • Maintain absolute confidentiality in all matters relating to personnel, finances and other matters, except as specifically requested by the Administrator or board of health members;

  • Make recommendations to supervisor or Administrator of ways to improve services and search for new funding sources;

  • Advise Administrator of ways to coordinate programs and services for maximum revenue;

  • Assist Administrator and appropriate supervisors with development of grant applications

  • Monitor and maintain investment activity;

  • Monitor money expended on the aforementioned grants in order to advise grant coordinators that all moneys are expended to grant requirements;

  • Submit monthly and/or quarterly expenditure documentation forms for grants as required;

  • Reconcile the balance sheet accounts monthly;

  • Work with auditors for the annual health department report/prepares CFR-Compiled Financial Report and provide appropriate documentation for cost report preparation;

  • Prepare the monthly journal entries and financial statements;

  • Prepare the annual budget;

  • Prepare financial scenarios for employee raises and wage base analysis;

  • Calculate the quarterly payments for the physician contracts;

  • Calculate fees for all services using cost justification analysis;

  • Prepare, monitor and enforce accounting policies and procedures;

  • Follow all safety and compliance rules and participate in all required safety and compliance tests and/or trainings;

  • Act as a positive role model within the community;

  • Attend any trainings, seminars or conferences deemed necessary to improve job performance;

  • Make recommendations to Administrator of internal controls needed and;

  • Payroll

  • Ensure all employee are entered correctly in Payroll

  • Accruals 

  • Performs other duties as required or requested.

Qualifications:

  • AS/AA (BA/BS Preferred) in accounting practices

  • Detailed knowledge of bookkeeping and general accounting principles;

  • Ability to keep accurate written financial reports;

  • Ability to develop accounting practices to insure secure departmental cash flow and accuracy of financial reports; and

  • Ability to interact with the Administrator, Administration, boards, public and staff in an efficient, friendly, cooperative, confidential and professional manner and to ensure great customer service is provided to everyone at all times.

  • Experience in Sage 300 is a plus

A Master's Level Qualified Mental Health Professional 

The Lawrence County Health Department is looking for a Master's Level Qualified Mental Health Professional to assist in the oversight of our Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program and maintain a counseling caseload. Time will be split between PSR (Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program) and counseling clients at our Behavior Health location in Lawrenceville, IL.

 Examples of Work:


  • Maintains a counseling caseload which includes individual, family, couple and group counseling and/or case management and consultation

  • Develops, implements, schedules and staffs PSR activities

  • Completes assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning activities

  • Assists the consulting psychiatrist in educating clients/family about psychotropic medications

  • Utilize acceptable clinical techniques to effect client change according to goals/objectives of client

  • Uses case management skills and/or staff appropriately

  • Participates in interdisciplinary clinical staff meetings

  • Works jointly with other disciplines to arrange services beyond his/her scope

  • Provides crisis services as needed

  • Attends necessary training events in order to obtain/maintain professional certification/licensure

  • Maintains staff coverage/schedules to ensure client to staff ratio in groups and transportation


Applicants should be aware of the following:

  • Normal hours are 8:00 AM-4:00 PM with one late night per week from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM. (Paid 30 minute Lunch)

  • Employee will have to be "on call" and respond in the event of a crisis every 6-8 weeks. Employee is compensated accordingly.

Psychiatric Nurse (L.P.N.)


  • provides support for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in a clinic setting.  This position will be part time at 2-3 days per week.
  • Assists patients to exam rooms
  • Collects data
  • Takes vitals on patients
  • Takes patient history
  • Documentation in paper chart and/or CIS/EMD’s Medical record systems
  • Completes AIMS evaluations when needed
  • Educates patients on medications
  • Assists Psych Nurse Practitioner
  • Checks nurse line at the end of the day for follow up
  • Maintains file on pending reports for follow-up
  • Secures all medications in locked cabinet before the end of each day (no pharmaceuticals are to be left out anywhere on the premises at any time)

Qualifications:


  • Current Illinois LPN License 
  • Has one year experience in Psychiatric Setting/working with Psychiatric Patients
  • Understanding of Psychiatric Medications
  • Requires demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with patients, other providers and the community; and
  • Requires the ability to interact with administration, boards, public and staff in friendly, cooperative, confidential and professional manner at all times.
