A Master's Level Qualified Mental Health Professional 

The Lawrence County Health Department is looking for a Master's Level Qualified Mental Health Professional to assist in the oversight of our Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program and maintain a counseling caseload. Time will be split between PSR (Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program) and counseling clients at our Behavior Health location in Lawrenceville, IL.

 Examples of Work:


  • Maintains a counseling caseload which includes individual, family, couple and group counseling and/or case management and consultation

  • Develops, implements, schedules and staffs PSR activities

  • Completes assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning activities

  • Assists the consulting psychiatrist in educating clients/family about psychotropic medications

  • Utilize acceptable clinical techniques to effect client change according to goals/objectives of client

  • Uses case management skills and/or staff appropriately

  • Participates in interdisciplinary clinical staff meetings

  • Works jointly with other disciplines to arrange services beyond his/her scope

  • Provides crisis services as needed

  • Attends necessary training events in order to obtain/maintain professional certification/licensure

  • Maintains staff coverage/schedules to ensure client to staff ratio in groups and transportation


Applicants should be aware of the following:

  • Normal hours are 8:00 AM-4:00 PM with one late night per week from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM. (Paid 30 minute Lunch)

  • Employee will have to be "on call" and respond in the event of a crisis every 6-8 weeks. Employee is compensated accordingly.

RURAL HEALTH CLINIC DIRECTOR

The RHC Clinic Director supervises the Rural Health Clinic medical staff and providers (all Physicians and Nurse Practitioners of the Rural Health Clinic).  The Clinical Supervisor possesses excellent clinical skills and interpersonal skills to benefit the patients of the Rural Health Clinic.  The Clinical Supervisor guides and manages the overall provision of services, policies, and programs for the Rural Health clinical operations.  Essential functions of this position are as follows:


  • Communicate and works well with Patients Accounts Director to manage RHC clinical personnel on a regular basis to promote a team atmosphere as related to clinical operations, excellent customer service and maximum productivity;

  • Develop, communicate, implement, and enforce RHC clinical policies and procedures, (including the training and orientation of current and new employees, along with ensuring that standing orders are approve Jan. 1, RN licenses are current, etc.)

  • Coordinate with IT to manage and troubleshoot clinical software and procedures;

  • Receive and greet patients, reps. Visitors and LCHD staff in person and on the phone promptly in a friendly, courteous, and confidential and professional manner (cheerfully communicate desire to meet their needs);

  • Maintains clinical supplies and equipment necessary to efficiently operate the RHC.

  • Ensure all clinical services and products rendered, purchased are used in the most cost-effective manner possible;

  • Efficiently staff and manage all clinical staff to meet patient and budget allowances in conjunction with past practices as directed by Administration;

  • Effectively receive and follow-up with Provider’s patients via telephone, fax, etc.

  • Develop and implement RHC clinical programs and/or special services as needed to: assist patients to exam rooms ; Complete medical history and all patient information is completed prior to patient appointments; Take vital signs of patients; Prepare patients for exam; Assist providers with exams and/or procedures as requested by the providers; Stock and maintains supplies in exam rooms daily; Clean exam rooms between patients; Administer injections or medication as directed by the providers; Screen patient phone calls; Pull and replace files as needed; Make patient call backs with provider’s orders; Call in refills or new prescriptions; Maintain lab area; Perform laboratory procedures with provider’s orders; Maintain file on pending reports for follow-up; Arrange follow-up appointments with specialists as directed by providers; Secure in locked cabinet all medications before the end of each day (no pharmaceuticals are to be left out anywhere on the premises at any time); and

  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by the Rural Health Clinic Supervisor or providers.


Qualifications:

  • Current Illinois Registered Nurse License;

  • Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing or related field;

  • Working knowledge of computer programs, such as Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel;

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to quickly grasp new ideas and new approaches; and

  • Ability to interact with LCHD employees and the public in an efficient, friendly, cooperative, confidential and professional manner and to ensure great customer service is provided to everyone at all times.


Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to constantly move about from room to room within the clinic.

  • Employee must be able to remain stationary for periods of time to conduct exam and complete appropriate documentation.

  • Employee must be able to remain stationary at work desk for extended periods of time.

  • Constantly operate computer and other medical office equipment.

  • Operate medical examination equipment.

  • Potential exposure to infectious disease present at all times.

  • Ability to occasionally move up to 50 lbs

  • Must have the ability to professionally communicate with patients, staff, administration, board, stakeholders, and other parties regarding medical and supervisory questions.
