    The Lawrence County Health Department Behavior Health Division is committed to and structured to provide intervention and preventative care and assistance for the mental and behavioral health needs of all residents of Lawrence County.  We are equally committed and prepared to advocate for the removal of any and all obstacles to equal access to the continuum of care.

Licensure and Certification

    The Behavior Health Division holds a license and/or certification to provide Medicaid Clinic services, Medicaid Rehabilitation services, Medicaid Case Management Services, Day Treatment services, DUI Evaluation/Updates, and Risk Education.  The Behavioral health Division holds a 3-year accreditation from CARF (The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission).

 

Outpatient Counseling Services

    Counseling services are provided to individuals, families, couples and groups for Children, Adolescents and Adults.  These services include, but are not limited to:  counseling, psychotherapy, and psychiatric services.

 

Day Treatment Services

    Adults with mental illnesses may be served through our Day Treatment Program.  This program is offered daily from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  This program offers services that focus on enhancing daily living skills, mental health issues, community integration, and peer interaction.

 

Case Management

    Case Management services are provided in both the Outpatient program and through Day Treatment and include the following:  home visits/outreach, monitoring and evaluating progress, and participation in services, referral and linkage to basic resources (financial, medical, dental, residential, public entitlements, social, educational, vocational or recreational), support in the community, advocacy and service planning.  As a department, staff continues to identify and deliver these services when indicated by client need.

 

Additional Services

Crisis Services are available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year and can be reached through the Crisis Hotline (800) 992-9129.

Substance Abuse Services provide DUI evaluations and Driver's Risk Education.  These services include linkage with the local courts and the Secretary of State's Office.  Other services for substance abuse/use are provided within the context of Outpatient Counseling services.

Long-Term Care Facility Coordination Services is provided to residents of the county that live in long-term facilities and are seen by our counseling and psychiatric staff to assist in mental illness and behavior management, as well as, assessment of illness/disability, medication management, family support, and case coordination.
